#16 seeds are still win-less versus #1 seeds in the NCAA Tournament thanks to the Wisconsin Badgers, Kentucky Wildcats, Villanova Wildcats, and the Duke Blue Devils. The Badgers were the final one seed to take down their #16th seed opponent, as they knock off Coastal Carolina by a score of 86-72.

The Badgers once again were able to get a full team effort in the game, but Wooden Award candidate Frank Kaminsky lead the way with his 12th double-double on the season with 27 points and 12 rebounds. Sam Dekker rebounded from a shaky performance versus Michigan State with 20 points and 2 rebounds. Nigel Hayes almost achieved a double-double in the first half as he had 13 points and 8 rebounds in the 1st half. Hayes finished with 15 points and 8 rebounds overall. Josh Gasser added 9 points for the Badgers while Bronson Koenig added 8. Traveon Jackson (foot) did not play in the game.

For the Chanticleers, they started the game on fire as they didn’t let the Badgers pull away right away. Warren Gillis had a big game for the Chanticleers, as he had 22 points and 5 rebounds. Elijah Wilson poured in 20 points from the bench on 7-11 shooting, and Josh Cameron, who is from Wisconsin, took the game more personally because the Badgers didn’t even send him a recruiting letter when he wanted to go there. Cameron started hot from the field, and finished the game with 11 points, and 3 assists in the losing effort.

The Badgers, (32-3), are moving on in the big dance to take on the #9 seed the Oregon Ducks on Sunday. The Chanticleers, (24-1), have been eliminated from the tournament and will look to comeback stronger and better next year.
