For the 2nd straight year, the Wisconsin Badgers have knocked off the Oregon Ducks. The last time around, the Badgers had Ben Brust and a healthy Traveon Jackson. The Badgers found themselves down 15 at the half, but a second half surge by the Badgers lead them to the 85-77 win. Today’s Badgers victory had a bit of a different score, as the game finished at the score of 72-65.
Sam Dekker lead all Wisconsin scorers with 17 points, and 5 rebounds, while Frank Kaminsky had 16 points along with 7 boards in the win. Nigel Hayes continued his major impact on the Badgers, as he scored 14 points with 5 rebounds and 3 assists. Most of Hayes points game in the 1st half, when Frank Kaminsky was struggling minorly. Bronson Koenig had 12 points, and Zak Showalter hit his 2nd three pointer on the year as he finished with 5 points and 5 rebounds.
Joseph Young was doing everything he could to keep the Ducks in the game, but his effort wasn’t enough. Young had 30 points, 3 rebounds, and 4 assists in his monster performance. Jalil Abdul-Bassit was the only other Oregon player to score in double figures, as he had 12 points. Jordan Bell and Dwayne Benjamin both had 8 points with Bell having a 8-7 advantage in rebounding.
