On November 19th, 2004 , the Indiana Pacers and the Detroit Pistons were playing a regular season game which ended 97-82 in favor of the Pacers. What happened this night was one of the biggest on court fights in NBA History. With less than a minute left in the game, a fight broke out between players on the court. After the fight had ended, a fan threw a drink from the stands at Pacers player Ron Artest (Also know as Metta World Peace) while he was lying on the scorer’s table. Artest then entered the crowd and started a massive brawl between players and fans. After the game, The NBA ended up suspending nine players for a grand total of 146 games which lead to NBA players losing 11 million in salaries. 5 fans that night also sentenced to 1 year probation and community service. As a result of the brawl, the NBA strengthened their security between the fans and the players and limited the sells of alcohol during games.
