Jordy Nelson ‘Surprised’ by Torn ACL

A MRI yesterday reveled that Packers Pro Bowl wide receiver Jordy Nelson would miss all of the 2015 NFL regular season with a ‘significant knee injury’ that was later reported to be the torn ACL we all thought it was going to be, even though the MRI showed that some ligaments in Nelson’s right knee were still intact.

Nelson played in all 16 regular season games during the 2014 season, catching 98 passes for 1,519 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns. 2015 will be the first action Nelson won’t be apart of with the Packers since 2012, and he’s surprised himself he will have to miss every game of the season.

“That’s why I just ran off the field”, said Nelson, when asked about his injury, “I didn’t think it was anything serious.”

Nelson also said that the injury was suffered after he landed after catching a pass from Packers star quarterback Aaron Rodgers during the team’s preseason game versus the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Davanate Adams and Ty Montgomery are both expected to have bigger roles in the Packers offense following the injury to Nelson as well.
