Seahawks’ Chancellor Ending Holdout

Seattle Seahawks safety Kam Chancellor missed the Seahawks first two games this season due to his contract holdout started prior to the start of training camp. Now, according to a text message sent to ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith, Chancellor is ending his holdout.

“Ima go help my teammates that are understanding of my position and the ones who aren’t,” Chancellor said in the text message to Smith. “God forgives all, why can’t I? Time to help us get back to the big dance. I can address business after the season. Me and Marshawn [Lynch] started a mission 2 years ago. I can’t let my Dawg down….Real talk.”

Chancellor missed over $260,000 in game checks during his holdout, and we will see if the Seahawks will waive his fines for skipping the team’s training camp.

Seattle’s defense has struggled without Chancellor’s presence, as they’re ranked 17th in the National Football League in total defense, surrendering a total of 40 points through their first two games.

The three-time Pro Bowler returns to Seattle on his same contract that runs through 2017.
