Quinn Cook Hopeful He’ll Make The Cavs

Throughout his entire life, Quinn Cook hasn’t been given anything easy. It’s always taken the extra effort for him, and he made that clear once again.

Cook went un-drafted in the 2015 NBA Draft coming out of Duke University, but quickly found himself on the Oklahoma City Thunder Summer League team: a team with aspirations of finally winning themselves a championship, led by Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, and Serge Ibaka.

Cook averaged 10.2 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 4.2 assists during the Orlando Summer League, getting him a training camp deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers, another team with aspirations of finally winning a title, led by LeBron James, Kyrie Irving, and Kevin Love.

Since Cook is already on a championship caliber team, it might be hard for him to make the roster as an un-drafted player. His goal is to be good enough to make the team, though.

. “I’ve been fighting my whole life,” Cook said. “Fighting to get in a position to be in high school. Fighting to get playing time at Duke and fighting now for a roster spot. I’m used to fighting, and I’m just happy to be at this point, happy that the Cavaliers are giving me this opportunity.”

If the 22-year-old cCook does make the Cavaliers, it would be interesting to see how they use him. The Cavaliers already have good depth at the guard position, so playing time seems unlikely.
