Eddie Lacy Will Break Out Following Bye Week

Green Bay Packers running back Eddie Lacy hasn’t had a season like many imagined us having.

Through six games this season, Lacy has posted just 343 all-purpose yards and 1 touchdown on the season, leading people to question his health, conditioning, and going as far as to say that he’s overweight.

Both Lacy and Packers head coach Mike McCarthy have continued to address Lacy the same way they had, saying that a nagging-ankle injury is the reason for Lacy’s bad performance so far this season.

“I’m not going to get into guy’s weights,” McCarthy said Wednesday, via ESPN.com. “I mean, I’ve never been asked a question about a guy’s weight. But I think players do get bigger in their career. But he’s bigger than he was as a rookie.”

Lacy also came to his own defense, saying that everyone is supposed to look like Adrian Peterson.

“I’m not the smallest person,” Eddie¬†Lacy said. “Brandon Jacobs wasn’t the smallest person. Jerome Bettis wasn’t the smallest person. Some people can just play like that, not that I’m Jerome Bettis’ weight or nothing like that. I’m just saying, not everybody’s meant to look like Adrian Peterson or somebody like that.”

I don’t know about you, but anytime someone starts questioning how I handle my health and if I am doing the proper things, it kind of starts to tick me off. It seems to me that Lacy is already un-happy with the concerns surrounding him.

But like they say, people only care about you and how you look when you’re doing bad, and I am calling it right now. Eddie Lacy will have a BIG second half of the season for the currently undefeated Green Bay Packers, and he might be the difference in their Sunday Night showdown this week versus the Broncos.
