Packers’ Peppers: ‘I still feel great’

Julius Peppers came into his second season with the Green Bay Packers with questions about his health and how his body will hold up during his 14th NFL season.

Him and Clay Matthews have the Packers defense clicking like we haven’t seen in quite some time.

Peppers and Matthews have combined for 10 sacks this season with Peppers having 5.5 as opposed to Matthews’ 4.5. Peppers having 5.5 sacks already has him 1.5 away from tying his season-high with the Packers last year, and he’s still feeling the same way he has.

“I still feel great,” Peppers said.

Peppers is still rushing the quarterback better than ever before, and it’s putting Packers linebacker coach Winston Moss in awe.

That’s extraordinary,” said Moss. “Here’s a person that understands what’s going on around him. I’m talking about 360 degrees, 24/7 within the context of a game or any time he’s in a practice environment.

“For him to have that type of unconscious ability to know exactly what’s going on around him, he can work in a manner in which it has allowed him to avoid any type of unnecessary or unlucky situations from an injury standpoint.”

As for the rest of his year, Peppers has 19 tackles and one forced fumble on the year.
