The Miami Heat acquired Goran Dragic via trade from the Phoenix Suns in February, and teams were determined to steal him away from the Heat during free agency.
The Los Angeles Lakers were a team that was expected to be in on Dragic, but Dragic never considered leaving the Heat to join the Lakers, or anyone else for that matter.
“I didn’t think about it,” said Dragic. “The Miami Heat came first and they offered a good deal. This was the right place for me and my family. It’s a winning culture here and they are doing an amazing job.”
Dragic is averaging 10.1 points, 4 assists, and 3 rebounds per game in eight games for the Heat so far during the 2015-2016 season.
