Jarnell Stokes Re-Assigned to NBA Development League by Heat

Jarnell Stokes was sent down to the NBA Development League by the Miami Heat on November 24th, and recalled for the Heat’s November 30th game versus the Celtics, a game in-which he did not play in.

Now, Stokes is headed back to the D-League once more:

Stokes played very well for the Heat in the D-League, averaging 23 points, 9.7 rebounds while shooting over 68% from the field as a member of the Sioux Falls Skyforce.

The move is what’s best for the Heat and Stokes. Stokes is just 21-years-old, and he has plenty of room to develop. Sitting on the Heat’s bench at an overcrowded front court position is not ideal for development purposes.

The Heat acquired Stokes via trade along with guard Beno Udrih on November 10th in the deal that sent Mario Chalmers to the Grizzlies alongside forward James Ennis.
