Brandon Jennings is Okay With Taking a Bench Role

Detroit Pistons guard Brandon Jennings has yet to play a regular season game this season after tearing his Left Achilles in a game versus the Milwaukee Bucks in January.

The Pistons were rolling prior to Jennings’ injury, so in order to try and sustain success, the team went out an acquired Reggie Jackson from the Oklahoma City Thunder, and then prompted to sign him to a, 5-year $80 million contract over the Summer.

Jennings was of course the Pistons starting point guard prior to the injury, and with him rumored to return sometime soon, he has no problems helping the team off the bench.

“I am not going to mess up the chemistry,” Jennings said. “The starters have chemistry and they have been playing well. If I can come off the bench and help out, then why not? “Always in my head (I am a starter),” Jennings added. “But sometimes you’ve got to take the back seat and do what is best for the team.

Jennings averaged 15.4 points, 6.6 assists, and 2.5 rebounds per game last season.
