Nationals Ship Drew Storen to the Blue Jays for Ben Revere

After losing Denard Span to the Giants yesterday, the Nationals have unloaded reliever Drew Storen to the Blue Jays in-exchange for Ben Revere; another speedy outfielder to upgrade their depth at the outfield positions.

Storen, who will turn 29 during the 2016 season, posted a 3.44 earned run average, 29 saves and 67 strikeouts over 55 innings of work for the Nationals in 2015, while Revere slashed .306/.342/.377 with 2 home runs and 45 runs batted in over 152 games split between the Phillies and Blue Jays.

It’s likely that Storen becomes the Blue Jays projected closer, or given the chance to win the job in Spring Training. As for Revere, he’s a lock for the Nationals roster due to his contact hitting, and stolen bases. He swiped 31 last year, good for 6th in all of Major League Baseball.
