Mavericks to Sign Veteran David Lee on Monday

The Boston Celtics and veteran big man David Lee agreed to a contract buyout on Friday, as the team was un-able to move him at the trading deadline due to his $15.4 million salary for this season, but the Dallas Mavericks will reportedly sign Lee on Monday using their $2.1 million exception to do so:

The 32-year-old Lee will be more serviceable in Dallas than he was in Boston, as the Celtics had a log jam at the power forward position. When the Warriors traded Lee to the Celtics in-exchange for Gerald Wallace and Chris Babb, many thought Lee would have a bigger role in Boston, but it looks like just a mere salary dump now.

The two-time all-star Lee is averaging 7.1 points and 4.3 rebounds per game this season.
