Report: Peyton Manning Meeting With Broncos Next Week to Discuss Retirement

Earlier today, a report from Woody Paige of the Denver Post stated that Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning would retire by the end of this week. Here’s what the report said:

His Bronc riding days are over; the last rodeo is done.

Peyton Manning is saying goodbye; it’s been lots of fun.

I’m told Manning will acknowledge his decision by the end of this week.

Shortly after this report came to the public’s attention, Patrick Smyth, the Broncos’ vice president of public relations took to Twitter to address that Manning hasn’t told the Broncos his decision yet, but he plans to meet with the team next week:

Manning has dropped plenty hints that this season could be his last, and the Broncos winning Super Bowl 50 over the Panthers sure makes it seem likely that Manning does indeed decide to hang up his cleats.

You know what they say though; nothing is official until you hear it from the person. Manning turns 40 in March, and typically quarterbacks that go past age 40 already aren’t very effective to begin with.

Manning threw for 2,249 yards in 2015 to go with 9 touchdowns and 17 interceptions.
