Domingo Santana (Shoulder) Expected to Rejoin Brewers Today

USA Today Sports

After a successful rehab stint at Double-A Biloxi, Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Domingo Santana is expected to rejoin the team today in Philadelphia for the second game of a four game series against the Philadelphia Phillies.

Santana appeared in three rehab games for Biloxi and batted .333/.600/.833 with one home run and one run batted in. The Brewers called up Keon Broxton to take Santana’s place on the roster, but the Brewers may decide to keep Broxton on the roster and option Alex Presley to the minors once Santana is activated.

It’s expected that Santana will be thrown right back in the starting lineup in right field for the Brewers, but in a different spot in the batting order as Jonathan Villar has shined brightly in the leadoff role for the Brewers.

The 23-year-old Santana batted .250/.341/.413 when he was healthy during the month of April. Overall for the 2016 season, Santana is batting .239/.353/.381 with 3 home runs and 12 runs batted in.
