The Philadelphia 76ers have officially signed international forward prospect Dario Saric two years after they acquired the rights to him during the 2014 NBA Draft.
The Orlando Magic originally selected Saric with the 12th overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft before trading him to the 76ers in-exchange for point guard Elfrid Payton. Saric spent the past two years playing for Anadolu Efes in Turkey.
Saric is currently 22-years-old, standing tall a 6’10, while weighing 243 pounds. In the 2016 FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament, Saric averaged 14 points and 10 rebounds for Croatia, winning the MVP award for the tournament.
In 2015-2016, Saric averaged 11.7 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game for Anadolu Efes with a shooting line of 50% from the field, 40% from three, and 93% from the free throw line.
Joel Embiid, the 3rd overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft, has also yet to play in the NBA for the 76ers. He and Saric will join a Philadelphia front court that is crowded, featuring Nerlens Noel and Jahlil Okafor.
