The original fear was an Achilles injury for Langford, but the Bears ruled eventually ended up ruling that out.
Langford was carted off the field during the 3rd quarter in the Bears’ 31-17 loss to the Dallas Cowboys last night. The 24-year-old Langford had 46 all-purpose yards in the contest prior to the injury occurring. He was replaced by rookie Jordan Howard, who finished with 92 all-purpose yards.
“I felt pretty good getting a lot of playing time and getting a lot of work,” Howard told Jeff Dickerson of ESPN. “I definitely feel comfortable, because I try to take advantage of all the reps I get. Since I’ve been here, the other backs and veterans, they’ve been keeping me up and catching me up to speed.”
The Bears decided to part ways with veteran running back Matt Forte this off-season due to Langford having a solid rookie season in 2015 where he rushed for 537 yards on 148 carries. With Langford set to be out at least a month, it will be interesting to see if Howard can step up in his absence.
