The Vols overcame a 17-0 halftime deficit to take a 28-24 lead with just under three minutes to play. Georgia quarterback Jacob Eason had thrown a 47-yard touchdown strike to Riley Ridley with 11 seconds left prior to the Hail Mary touchdown throw.
“It was a crazy play, stuff you dream about,” Dobbs said following the game.
Tennessee is now 5-0 on the season, giving them a commanding lead on the SEC East. After beating Florida and now Georgia, the Volunteers also now have the tiebreaker over those two teams.
Dobbs finished the game with 230 passing yards on 16 completions, throwing for three touchdowns and one interceptions. Jennings caught three passes for 71 yards, and of course the one Hail Mary touchdown.
