76ers’ Joel Embiid Declares Himself ‘200 Percent’ Healthy

Joel Embiid‘s NBA debut has been on hold for two years now, but in eight days he will be out on the court for the Philadelphia 76ers versus the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Philadelphia used the 3rd overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft to select Embiid after Andrew Wiggins and Jabari Parker. Many NBA scouts and executives had Embiid as the best prospect ahead of Wiggins and Parker before it was learned that he wasn’t 100% healthy.

Now, Embiid is ‘200% healthy’, and getting ready prepare himself to be 100% game shape ready, per Tom Moore of the Bucks County Courier Times:

So far in the pre-season, the 76ers are 1-6. Embiid has impressed despite the 76ers’ poor play in meaningless games, however, as he has averaged 10.3 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 1 block per game in limited action to ensure he’s ready for the season.

NBA Draft.net compared Embiid to Tim Duncan and Hakeem Olajuwon in their scouting report on them, so you know that 76ers fans can’t wait to see him. Jahlil Okafor, Nerlens Noel, and Ben Simmons together when Simmons returns to the court.

The 22-year-old Embiid, who turn 23 during the season, is expected to play 24 minutes in his debut, as the 76ers continue to ease him back into the swing of playing scheduled games for the first time since his college days at Kansas.
