Louisiana State Tigers running back Leonard Fournette will bypass his senior at Louisiana State and head to the NFL following the Tigers’ Citrus Bowl game against the Louisville Cardinals, he announced today.

Fournette was limited to just seven games this season, but he rushed for 843 yards and racked up eight touchdowns in those seven games, pushing his career stats at Louisiana State to 3,830 in 32 career collegiate games.

In his sophomore season, Fournette set an SEC record by rushing for 162.8 yards per game. He finished with the second most rushing yards that season at 1,953 behind Alabama’s Derrick Henry, who had 2,219 rushing yards in his final college season.

The 21-year-old Fournette is expected to be one of the top prospects taken during the draft, while also being the first running back off the board.

College football players have till January 16th to decide whether or not to enter the NFL Draft.
