Kings Goalie Jonathan Quick Not Close to Returning From Injury

It looks like the Los Angeles Kings will be without goalie Jonathan Quick for an even longer time period now.

Quick is still rehabbing a groin injury suffered in the first game of the season, according to Kings head coach Darryl Sutter, and is not close to returning at this time.

From Jon Rosen of the LA Kings Insider:

“In terms of [his progress], he’s just starting moving to the end of training from therapy. He’s still very much in the rehab mode. They’re still talking about a month before he could even begin to say what that next step was. It’s not in this year [2016] before there’s any sort of update.”

Jeff Zatkoff and Peter Budaj have manned the net in Quick’s absence, leaving the Kings 5th in the Pacific Division behind the San Jose Sharks, Calgary Flames, Edmonton Oilers, and Anaheim Ducks. They currently hold the last wild card spot in the Western Conference, as they are up one point on the Winnipeg Jets.

The 30-year-old Quick has a career goals saved percentage of 91%, and an all-time record of 252-162-51.
