Ha Ha Clinton-Dix Crowned NFC Defensive Player of the Week

Green Bay Packers free safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix has been named the NFC’s Defensive Player of the Week following a standout before against the Chicago Bears in Green Bay’s 30-27 win on Sunday.

Clinton-Dix intercepted Bears quarterback Matt Barkley on back-to-back series to net his second game of the season with two interceptions. The third-year safety out of Alabama also had 5 total tackles in the game, along with 2 pass deflections to become the first Packers player to be given the honor this season.

This is also the first time Clinton-Dix has won defensive player of the week, and there were surely be more to come as he was named to his first Pro Bowl yesterday.

Clinton-Dix and strong safety Morgan Burnett have formed a durable duo in the Packers’ secondary that has dealt with various injuries at the cornerback position this season, most notably Sam Shields who has missed every game except one this season with a concussion.

The 24-year-old Clinton-Dix is now tied with New York Giants safety Landon Collins for the most interceptions in the NFL with 5 total. Clinton-Dix also has 65 tackles on the year with 1 forced fumble, and 6 pass deflections.
