WATCH: Russell Westbrook Posts 15th Triple Double of Season vs. Heat

USA TODAY Sports

The NBA’s modern day triple double man was at it again Tuesday night.

Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook recorded 29 points, 17 rebounds, and 11 assists against the Miami Heat on Tuesday night to record his 15th triple double of the 2016-2017 NBA season, and the 52nd triple double of his NBA career.

Westbrook took advantage of the depleted Heat, who were missing starting point guard Goran Dragic due to a back injury. Westbrook is only the 6th player in NBA history to have a triple double against the Heat in Miami’s 29 years as a franchise.

The 28-year-old Westbrook nearly recorded the triple double in the first half of the contest in-which the Thunder won 104-96 by having 12 points, 8 rebounds, and 10 assists at halftime.

Westbrook came into the night averaging a triple double with a statline of 31.7 points, 10.4 rebounds, and 10.9 assists per game.

Tonight’s triple double was also Westbrook’s 30th in 2016. He and Oscar Robertson are the only players in NBA history to register 30 triple doubles in a calendar year.
