Blake Griffin (Knee) Expected to Return Tuesday vs. 76ers

Los Angeles Clippers star power forward Blake Griffin is expected to return to the Clippers lineup on Tuesday when the Clippers take on the Philadelphia 76ers in Philadelphia, the second game of a three-game road trip.

With Griffin expected to return on Tuesday, that means that the Clippers will likely have to play their Monday game against the Atlanta Hawks without Griffin and Chris Paul, who recently went on the shelf with a finger injury.

Per Broderick Turner of the Los Angeles Times, Griffin has seen his workouts increase to the level where he will be back next week at the latest.

“It’s as close as I can be, I think,” Griffin said to reporters on Saturday. “It was good to get some contact in yesterday. So it’s good to get some like real work in besides just running and shooting. It’s kind of up to them.”

When Griffin returns to the starting lineup, he will once again be paired with DeAndre Jordan in the front court. Luc Richard Mbah a Moute would likely then slide over to small forward, with J.J. Redick and Austin Rivers at the two guard spots.

Griffin is averaging 21.2 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 4.7 assists this season.
