Atlanta Falcons star wide receiver Julio Jones says he will play in Super Bowl 51 versus the New England Patriots on Sunday despite being on Atlanta’s injury report with a toe injury that has bothered him throughout the playoffs.

Jones told Josina Anderson of ESPN that he will practice fully in preparation for the big game this week, and that the toe should be a non-issue when he is matched up with Patriots cornerback Malcolm Butler looking to add to what has already been a stellar postseason.

In the NFC Championship Game versus the Green Bay Packers, Jones demolished a disseminated Packers secondary for 180 yards on 9 catches that included two trips into the end zone in the 44-21 victory. He had 8 catches for 67 yards and 1 touchdown in the 36-20 divisional round win over the Seattle Seahawks.

Patriots safety Devin McCourty knows that Jones posses a tough match-up for a team trying to win their 5th Super Bowl in the Tom Brady era:

“He’s a tough guy to stop,” McCourty said, according to NFL.com. “This league is tough, you’ve got guys out here 6-3, 225, 4.3 (seconds). Like I said earlier, we’re gonna have to try and commit everybody to him. We can’t just let him stand out there one-on-one all game and just do what he does.”

The 27-year-old Jones, who will turn 28 in February, caught 83 passes for 1,409 yards and 6 touchdowns in the regular season. That 1,409 yard mark ranked 2nd in the NFL behind only T.Y Hilton of the Indianapolis Colts.
