Profar certainly made the most of his opportunity tonight, and has been doing so as of late with Andrus set to begin a rehab assignment in the near future.
In the Rangers’ 8-2 win over the Oakland Athletics on Wednesday night, Profar blasted two home runs and went 3-for-4 in the process. He finished the night with 5 runs batted in after he added on a two-run single to score Delino DeShields Jr. and Isiah Kiner-Falefa. Profar’s first homer of the night was a two-run shot to score Nomar Mazara in the first inning, while the second was a solo shot in the third inning.
Rangers slugger Joey Gallo followed up Profar’s first inning home run with one of his own, which was his 17th blast on the season.

It should be interesting to see what happens to Profar’s role on the team once Andrus is back in the mix and fully healthy. The Rangers have held onto the former top prospect for so long, and it’s possible that they could be finally reaping the benefits of holding on for so long.
The 25-year-old Profar is now batting .243/.314/.460 on the season with 6 homers, 33 runs batted in, and 3 stolen bases.
