The Alabama Crimson Tide came into their first game of the season favored by 13 points to beat the 20th ranked Wisconsin Badgers, and they were able to score 5 more points, winning 35-17. Alabama took away Wisconsin’s running game early, as their man back Corey Clement rushed for only 16 yards on 8 attempts.

As for the Tide, there rushing attack was lethal tonight, with Derrick Henry and Kenyan Drake rushing for over 200 yards and 4 rushing touchdowns, while Jake Coker only threw 6 incompletions on 21 attempts with 213 yards and 1 touchdown.

Joel Stave looked much better in his first start of his senior year, throwing for 228 yards on 39 attempts, completing 26 of them with 2 touchdowns and 1 interception. The deciding factor in the game had to do with the Badgers not being able to run the ball effectively, and star Wisconsin safety Michael Caputo leaving the game in the 1st quarter after taking a knee to the head, and was clearly shook up.

It was a great win for Crimson Tide, as the defense was a strong performer, and the running game was very deadly. Wisconsin had some bright spots with Stave and the secondary play as the game progressed. Missed tackles are a given sometimes, and it will end up improving eventually.

The Crimson Tide, (1-0), will take on Middle Tennessee next Saturday, while the Badgers, (0-1), will play Miami (OH), also next Saturday.
