Let’s fast forward back to last night when one of the nation’s top teams was in danger of losing again.
The number three Oklahoma Sooners trailed the number twenty-four Texas Longhorns 57-51 with just over three minutes to go in the game, and Buddy Hield was not having a Buddy Hield like game.
Until the end, of course.
Hield scored 12 points in that time frame noted above, including this game winning three that was just so clutch you can’t describe it:
“I told coach I wanted the ball,” Hield said, “I saw Lammert coming to bite, so I pulled up.”
Hield finished the game with 27 points on 7-18 shooting from the field. Hield also posted 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals in the performance.
Hield is now averaging 25.7 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game. Him and Louisiana State’s Ben Simmons are favorites to win National Player of the Year with Hield having the advantage due to team record.
