The Philadelphia 76ers will pick up the contract options of big man Nerlens Noel, guard Nik Stauskas, and center Joel Embiid, per the Philadelphia Inquirer.
From the Inquirer’s article:
This comes as no surprise.
The 76ers exercised team options on Nerlens Noel, Joel Embiid and Nik Stauskas Friday morning. This confirms a report by The Inquirer that this action would happen. The move keeps the three players under contract through the 2016-17 season.
Picking up Noel’s contract option comes as no surprise, as the big man is showing real signs of growth, including his 14 point, 12 rebound, 2 block game on opening night versus the Boston Celtics. Picking up Stauskas’ option is no surprise either, the 76ers traded for the former Michigan star during the off-season.
Embiid’s option being picked up also really isn’t a big surprise, but the former number three overall pick back in 2014 has yet to play a game for the 76ers.
