Alex Ovechkin: “We’re going to come back and win the series”

After being down 3-1 for the second straight year in a row, the New York Rangers look defeated from within. The Rangers won game five to pull the series to 3-2, then yesterday in game six they tied the series at 3-3 with their 4-3 win forcing a game seven at Madison Square Garden. If you know anything about hockey, you know the Rangers are practically unbeatable at home in game sevens. Washington Capitals star Alex Ovechkin is confident the Capitals will pull it off however.

“We’re going to come back and win the series,” Ovechkin said. “We’re going to play our game and we’re going to come back and we’re going to play Montreal or Tampa.”

This will be the ninth career game seven for Ovechkin. He has won three of the previous eight game sevens and played his last game seven with a broken foot. Ovechkin’s 53 goals in the regular season were the most in the NHL.
