Alexey Shved Hopeful He’ll Re-Sign With the Knicks

New York Knicks guard Alexey Shved has been one of the few bright spots on the Knicks this season, and he’s hoping that the numbers he put up for New York this season are good enough to get him a new deal with the team this Summer. Shved will become a free agent on July 1st. The Knicks acquired Shved in a trade earlier this season.

“I hope next year I can stay here,” Shved said .“My agent will do his work summertime but I want to stay here. We had a lot of problems and injuries. Everything will change next year and I want to be part of it.”

The Knicks will be able to also attract high profile free agents due to the cap space that they will have this free agency with Amar’e Stoudemire’s contract already gone, and Andrea Bargnani’s coming off the books.

Shved is averaging 14.8 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game for the Knicks this season in 16 games. He also started for the Knicks nine times this year.
