Green Bay Packers speedy wide receiver Ty Montgomery left the Packers’ game versus the San Diego Chargers with a left ankle injury after catching a shovel pass for six yards.

Montgomery’s injury left the Packers with just four wide receivers on the active roster in Randall Cobb, James Jones, Jeff Janis, and Jared Abbrederis, raising concern for the Packers wide receiving core yet again that had already lost Jordy Nelson to a torn ACL during the pre-season.

It was reported during the game that Montgomery wouldn’t return, but it was also reported that the x-ray the Packers ran on his left ankle was negative. Now, after undergoing further tests, we have more results.

This is good news for the Packers especially heading into the bye week, giving Montgomery and Davante Adams, another injured Packers receiver a full week to get healthy. Montgomery has 15 receptions for 136 yards and two touchdowns on the year.
