Chicago bears inside linebacker Danny Trevathan will undergo surgery on his right thumb after spraining it in Chicago’s 29-14 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles last night, per Rich Campbell of the Chicago Tribune.
Trevathan’s injury will not be season-ending, as Campbell notes in his Tweet. He suffered the injury during the 3rd quarter of the game, and continued to play the remainder of the game after getting his hand examined momentarily on the sideline.
The Bears signed Trevathan to a four-year, $24 million this off-season with $12 million guaranteed after winning Super Bowl 50 as a member of the Denver Broncos. Trevathan racked up 109 tackles in 15 games last season for the Broncos.
