Ben Zobrist Named 2016 World Series MVP

Chicago Cubs infielder/outfielder Ben Zobrist was named MVP of the 2016 World Series following Chicago’s 8-7 Game 7 win over the Cleveland Indians, becoming the first Cubs player to earn the prestigious honor.

Zobrist, who also won the 2015 World Series as a member of the Kansas City Royals, smacked a go-ahead RBI double in the 10th inning to score Albert Almora Jr. Teammate Miguel Montero would then follow with a RBI single to score Anthony Rizzo.
