The Charlotte Hornets have elected to not extend the qualifying offer to free agent Bismack Biyombo according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports. That means that instead of Biyombo being restricted, meaning that the Hornets can match any offer for Biyombo, he is now an unrestricted free agent because of this.
Biyombo served as a backup towards Al Jefferson, averaging 4.8 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks per game in an average of 19.4 minutes per game in 64 regular season games that included 21 starts. Biymbo is still just 22 years of age, and could develop into a great center if given more playing time by whichever team decided to pick him up in free agency.
