Craig Counsell took over as the manager of the Milwaukee Brewers on May 4th after Ron Roenicke was fired after the Brewers started out 7-18. There was questions from the start about how long Counsell would be the manager and such, and with Doug Melvin stepping down as Brewers general manager yesterday, it was brought up that Counsell could take over as general manager.
Counsell set the rumors straight yesterday.
In case anyone had doubt, Craig Counsell confirmed he loves managing & has no interest in being GM: "I'm not a candidate."

It would make sense that Counsell likes managing, as he is 41-48 as the Brewers manager. This is good for him when you look at it in hindsight, considering all the changes that have been made already in a few months under him.
