The Denver Broncos have claimed running back Justin Forsett off waivers from the Detroit Lions and placed running back Kapri Bibbs on injured reserve due to an ankle injury, per an official team announcement.
Bibbs is currently in a walking boot due to a severely sprained left ankle, with an MRI revealing no fractures in the ankle. Bibbs’ injury isn’t as severe compared to other injured reserve players around the league, but he won’t rush again for the Broncos this season.
“We hate to lose Kapri,” Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak told NFL Radio. “Forsett was out there. He played really well in Baltimore, and knows us.”
Forsett will severe as the main back-up running back to Devontae Booker with C.J. Anderson still hoping to return this season.
The 31-year-old Forsett has accumulated for 153 yards all-purpose yards this season. In 777 career rushing attempts, Forsett has rushed for 3,735 yards and 19 total touchdowns.
