Washington Nationals right fielder Bryce Harper has been a total beast this season. His 18 home runs lead the National League in home runs and have him tied for the Major League lead with the Mariners Nelson Cruz. Those two players would come to mind as the players who will be in the Home Run Derby for sure, but Harper is un-sure if he will participate in the derby due to his father.
“I probably won’t be able to do it this year, because he’s my guy,” Harper told the Cincinnati Enquirer.
“We’ll see if I end up doing it or not,” Harper said. “As of right now, I don’t know if I’ll end up doing it.”
Harper’s father, Ron Harper, pitched to him in the 2013 MLB Home Run Derby and would be Harper’s pitcher this year if he can as Ron Harper is coming off rotator cuff surgery in his right shoulder.
