Bucks Rookie Thon Maker (Wrist) Won’t Play in Preseason Opener

Milwaukee Bucks power forward Thon Maker will not play in Milwaukee’s pre-season opener versus the Chicago Bulls tonight in Chicago due to a wrist injury according to head coach Jason Kidd.

The 19-year-old Maker appears to still be battling a sprained right wrist he suffered during Bucks training camp last week. Maker didn’t scrimmage with the team on Sunday, but he was able to participate in some drills during pregame warm-ups.

Matt Velazquez of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel also reports that if Maker was healthy, he would have started. Instead, the Bucks will go with a starting lineup of Malcolm Brogdon, Rashad Vaughn, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jabari Parker, and Miles Plumlee.

Maker was the 10th overall pick by the Bucks in the 2016 NBA Draft.
