Bucs Rookie QB Jameis Winston Named to Pro Bowl, Replacing Tom Brady

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have never sent a rookie quarterback to the Pro Bowl.

Until now.

It was announced today that Jameis Winston, who was the number one overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, would be named to the team in replacement of Patriots quarterback Tom Brady:

Winston had a very impressive rookie season, posting a quarterback rating of 84.2 with 4,042 passing yards and 22 passing touchdowns, joining Cam Newton and Andrew Luck as the only rookie quarterbacks to throw for 4,000 during their rookie year.

On November 22nd, Winston and the Buccaneers crushed the Eagles 45-17. Winston threw five touchdowns and zero interceptions in the game, becoming just the second rookie in NFL history to throw for at least five touchdowns and zero interceptions in a game.

This is likely to be the first of many Pro Bowl’s for Winston.
