Buffalo Bills Name QB Tyrod Taylor Week One Starter

Bills quarterback Tyrod Taylor was competing with EJ Manuel and Matt Cassel for the Bills starting quarterback job, and Bills head coach Rex Ryan confirmed earlier today that Taylor had indeed won the job over Manuel and Cassel based off Taylor’s first three pre-season games.

Ryan said he had a “change of heart” about saying that he wouldn’t name a starter during the pre-season, as he said “he’s on top of what we’re doing.”

Taylor will get his first NFL start versus the Indianapolis Colts come week one, and the interesting thing about it is his last football career start came against current Colts quarterback Andrew Luck when Luck was in college and Taylor played him during the Orange Bowl in 2011, a game Taylor’s Virginia Tech Hookie’s lost 40-12.
