Byron Buxton (Thumb) Will Begin Rehab Games Friday

The Minnesota Twins are in funk right now. They’re 2-8 in their last 10 games and they could use some good news. That news is coming in the form of young outfielder Byron Buxton, as he is set to begin Minor League rehab tomorrow according to MLB.com’s Rhett Bollinger. Buxton has been out since June 26th with a sprained thumb.

Buxton, who was the top rated prospect by many coming into the 2015 season, is just 21-years-old, but struggled to find a grove before going on the disabled list. He is batting just .189 with an on-base percentage of .231 with no home runs and no runs batted in on the year.
