With Wesley Matthews out for the season with a torn Achilles, Blazers guard C.J. McCollum has been making the most of his opportunity to get more playing time. McCollum did that again tonight, as he scored a career high 27 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 assists in the Blazers win over the Lakers.
Damian Lillard was, well Damian Lillard, as the Blazers star point guard scored 20 points, grabbed 3 rebounds, and dished out 5 assists from the point guard spot. LaMarcus Aldridge continued to be a force with his banged up thumb, as the Blazers forward had 14 points and 8 rebounds. Nicolas Batum had 7 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 assists, while the Blazers center Robin Lopez had 10 points and 4 rebounds in the Blazers 49th win on the season, giving them the Northwestern Division title.
Jordan Clarkson shined yet again proving he can be the Lakers point guard of the future, as Clarkson had 27 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists on 12-20 shooting from the field. Wesley Johnson had a double-double tonight, as the Lakers forward had 11 points and 15 rebounds. Tarik Black had 10 points and 4 rebounds on 5-10 shooting from the field, and un-drafted rookie Jabari Brown, who was recently signed to a multi-year deal, had 11 points and 3 rebounds in the losing effort for the Lakers tonight.
