Can Johnny Manziel Rebound From Disaster Rookie Year?

Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Johnny Manziel had a rookie year to forget to say the least, as his off the field issues impacted his performance on the field. The college star at Texas A&M just couldn’t keep his same old party style in the NFL. It appears he knew that too, as he checked into rehab during the off-season.

After he checked out of rehab, Manziel said he was a ‘changed man.’

“I take full responsibility for my actions and it’s my intention to work very hard to regain everyone’s trust and respect. I understand that will take time and will only happen through what I do and not what I say,” Manziel said. “I also understand there’s a lot of curiosity about this but anyone who has a friend or family member that’s been through things like this knows it’s an ongoing process. I’m going to continue to ask folks to try to respect my privacy as I determine to what degree I am comfortable talking about a subject which I consider very personal.”

There are people that are labeling Manziel as a ‘bust’ after just six quarters of football. That’s not even two full games. Manziel himself looked jittery in the pocket and throwing passes on the run, something that he made look effortlessly while setting the college football world on fire.

People love Manziel because he was an entertainer. He was fun to watch, and the fact that he was shorter than the average quarterback always makes him a favorite. Johhny knows to party, but it looks like those days are behind him.

I think Manziel just matured too late and it took him till his first year in the NFL to figure out that he was immature. That seems to be a common in today’s crazy world of sports. Jameis Winston still may like to troll his fans, but it seems like he has apreach realized that the college days are now behind him. That’s why I think Manziel will be better during his second season playing in the National Football League.

I’m confident everyone has or wants to party in college. I can’t blame these guys for wanting to have fun during their number days as a kid. College is an exciting and stressful time for kids, and now that they can party on their own, they want to take advantage of it. It’s all just a little fun, but yes, sometimes it can get out of hand. Manziel caught himself before it was too late.

Do I think Manziel will be a totally different guy that is now a total superstar? No. I expect him to be good for the 2015 season, but not when we’re talking about him going to the Pro Bowl. The money sign is gone, but I expect him to be money on the field this season, giving Cleveland Browns fans a breath of fresh air that they finally have a good quarterback for the future and now.
