Carlos Rodon Won’t Make Next Start vs. A’s Due to Innings Limit

The White Sox want to keep their future as bright as they can, and they’re going to start by protecting one of their most valuable assets in Carlos Rodon by skipping his upcoming start in the White Sox series versus the Athletics, set to begin on Monday.

Per CSN Chicago:

White Sox manager Robin Ventura has decided to go with John Danks, Jeff Samardzija, Erik Johnson and Jose Quintana against the A’s when they come to town next week. With the Sox switching back to a five-man rotation for now, Ventura gets a chance to see more of guys like Johnson, who made a solid impression on the South Side skipper in his last outing.

Rodon is 7-6 on the year with a 3.94 earned run average and 131 strikeouts over 125.2 innings this year. He also has a win-loss record of 4-2 with a 1.76 ERA, 41 strikeouts over his last six starts.
