In December of 2010, Carmelo Anthony told the Denver Nuggets (His current team at the time) that he would not accept their 65 million dollar extension unless they traded him to the New York Knicks. A 3 team trade in February made Melo’s demand come true as he was traded to the Knicks. Since the trade the Knicks have made the playoffs 3 out of 4 times and the highest point they reached was the 2nd round in the 2012-2013 NBA playoffs. Carmelo has recently said he couldn’t leave New York after the way he forced himself to the city.
