Many thought that CC Sabathia’s 2015 season would come to an end with a right knee injury, but according to Andrew Marchand of ESPN New York, the Yankees are expecting him to return this upcoming Wednesday.

Sabathia has been out since August 23rd with the injury, but after throwing a simulated game on Friday at Yankee Stadium, Sabathia said he felt “great” after the game. He will now wear a brace when he is playing in games, rather than his regular athletic sleeve.

Sabathia would get the start for the Yankees upon his return versus the Orioles, and the Yankees would end up running a six-man rotation, featuring Masahiro Tanaka, Nathan Eovaldi, Luis Severino, Michael Pineda, Ivan Nova, and of course Sabathia.

Sabathia has struggled this year with the Yankees, as the 35-year-old has a 4-9 win-loss record with a 5.27 earned run average and 113 strikeouts.
