David Ortiz Believes Alex Rodriguez is Playing Clean

The Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees are still bitter rivals all though the Red Sox haven’t been playing very good the last couple of years. Some of the most recognizable faces of both teams are Alex Rodriguez for the Yankees, and David Oritz for the Red Sox. Both of them have failed drug tests before, but Rodriguez has been the most notable player to be suspended.

With Alex Rodriguez having a great season at 39 and 40, Ortiz was asked if he thinks A-Rod is playing clean or not. Here’s the transcript of his response:

“It is what it is,” Ortiz said before the Yankees blew out the Red Sox, 13-3, Tuesday night at the Stadium. “The guy is playing the right way now — as far as we know. He’s having a good season and doing the right thing. I guess that deserves credit . . . He’s having a good season,” Ortiz said. “Me, personally, I thought having a year off and getting older was something that would affect you, but he looks good to me.”

It seems like a sarcastic response by saying ‘as far as we know’, but I get why he said it. Every player is playing clean until Major League Baseball finds out about it.
