David Price Will be “Limited” in Final Regular Season Start

The Boston Red Sox will be limiting ace David Price in his final regular season start tomorrow versus the Baltimore Orioles, according to Pete Abraham of the Boston Globe.

Boston’s thinking here is to obviously make sure their hefty investment is well rested for the American League Division Series against the Cleveland Indians. It looks like Price is lined up to start game two of the series on Friday in Boston.

There is no clear indication on just how limited he will be, but Price for sure will either be on an innings limit or pitch count.

Price will enter his final start of the year with a 17-9 win-loss record, a 4.04 earned run average, and 224 strikeouts over 225 innings of work in his first season as a Red Sox after signing a seven-year, $217 million with the team in the off-season.
