While we all were talking about Russell Westbrook getting his 4th straight triple double, Anthony Davis was balling in his return from injury as well. It appears that Anthony Davis wants his name in the MVP discussion again, as he scored 39 points, grabbed 13 rebounds, and blocked 8 shots.
Other Pelicans players played key roles in the Pelicans win as well, Tyreke Evans had 21 points, with 9 assists and 4 rebounds to tag along with Davis. Alexis Ajinca was the only other Pelicans player that scored in double figures tonight, as he scored 10 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for a double double.
For the Pistons, Andre Drummond also had a double double with 13 points, 18 rebounds, and 6 blocks. Jodie Meeks scored 20 points in 28 minutes coming off the bench, while the back court of Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Reggie Jackson combined for 22 points. Caldwell-Pope had 8 points while Jackson 14 points and 11 assists in the losing effort.
The Pelicans, (33-28), will stay in New Orleans as the Celtics will come to town and the two teams will face on Friday. The Pistons, (23-37), will continue their road trip as they take on the Houston Rockets Friday.
